About Me
I work with founders, marketing leaders, and teams who believe strategy should drive growth — not just activity.
Most of the challenges my clients face, I've seen before — at different scales, in different industries. That experience is what I bring to every engagement.
What thirty years taught me
I've watched brilliant marketing leaders get so consumed by execution that strategy never makes it onto the calendar. I've been that person.
I've seen teams move fast, launch products, hit activity metrics — and still not be able to explain why growth has stalled. The data is all there. The diagnosis isn't. I've been on those teams.
I've worked with early-career marketers who are technically capable and genuinely motivated — but have never seen what "good" looks like because no one has shown them. I've managed those people, and I've been that person too.
With AI accelerating everything, the pressure to act before you think is only getting worse. Marketing is losing its seat at the strategic table — not because it doesn't matter, but because the player-coach reality of most marketing organizations leaves little room for the kind of thinking strategy actually requires.
Drucker, Porter, Kotler, and Kotter figured out what makes businesses work decades ago. The fundamentals haven't changed. The technology has. The speed has. But the strategic questions that determine whether a company grows or stalls — who you serve, what you stand for, how your buyers make decisions — those are the same questions they always were. They just get skipped now.
I got tired of watching that happen. So I wrote Think First. Move Fast. And I built the Ready-to-Market Accelerator.
My background
I've been an executive at companies like Adobe, VMware, and Ticketmaster, and advised brands including Amazon, Apple, Salesforce, Intel, Cisco, and HP. I've worked with startups at every stage — from founders figuring out their first go-to-market motion, to Series B and beyond, where the challenge shifts from getting started to scaling without losing focus.
That range — from the Fortune 500 to the founding team, from early traction to global brand — means I've seen most of the problems you're facing. And I've seen what works.
A word about AI
I use it. I think it's genuinely useful. But it amplifies whatever foundation you bring to it. Strong strategy in, strong output. Fuzzy thinking in, confident-sounding fuzzy output. The work of getting clear on who you serve, what you stand for, and why you win — that's still human work. That's what I do.One more thing:
After thirty years in the tech industry — often the only woman in the room — I have a particular soft spot for women who are building something and ready to do the work. But honestly, most of my clients are men, and I love that too.Ready to talk?
